Set in the most vibrant area of beautiful Addis Ababa – Ethiopia, Kaya has two branches you can choose from, Kaya Morning Star Mall and Kaya Adika. Whether you choose from our international dishes or satisfy your craving for traditional Ethiopian food, our competent chef together with our friendly staff will do their outmost best to make your visit a memorable one!

Our History

My story is one of guts and determination to follow my dreams of being my own boss and sharing my love of people and cuisine back in the country that I left long time ago. I lived most part of my life in the UK and working my way through the international hotel scene in London, I was well prepared for the challenge to open a restaurant in Addis Ababa. Since the opening in 2014, Kaya has been steadily on the raise to the top and will continue to create a place of happiness for each and every guest.

At Kaya, our team strives for efficient, uncompromised, sincere, fabulous, caring and exceptional service (as close to perfection as possible). We want to be a good place to enjoy a nice glass of wine, good food or just a casual drink for everyone. Our staff members provide a caring, genuine, free-spirited, diverse place to work.

We are proud to serve and promote Ethiopian wine.

The Rift Valley wines are the fruits of a vineyard during the rift valley volcanoes, which is also home to the picturesque Lake Zeway. The unique character and exceptional test of the wines are a testament to the terroir.

Its unique taste derives from the grapes being grown on an altitude of 1600m above sea level and surrounded by steep volcanic hills. Zeway Valley is part of the Great Rift Valley, formed about 20 million years ago, the single largest geographical feature on the African continent. The Acacia, the most enduring tree of the arid regions of Ethiopia is also the most prevalent feature of the flora and fauna of Ziway. It is a symbol of friendship and conviviality throughout the region.

Coffee:  Love coffee? So do we and there is no better way to experience what made Ethiopia the No. 1 coffee country in the world than tasting it the traditional way – freshly roasted, served from Jebena, a beautiful pot made out of clay.
